The Best Lightweight Summer Skin Tints for Combination Skin

·

Last Updated on June 16, 2025 by Amy

As temperatures rise, heavy foundations can feel suffocating. That’s why skin tints and tinted moisturisers are the perfect solution—they provide lightweight coverage while keeping your skin fresh and hydrated.

It feels a bit ironic to be writing about warm-weather makeup while it’s raining endlessly in the UK, but I’m staying positive and dreaming of lazy summer days, BBQs, and an Aperol Spritz in hand!

These days, I’m all about skin tints. Now that I’m in my mid-30s, I’ve noticed that the full-coverage foundations I used in my 20s look a little cakey and heavy. Plus, they take far too long to apply—especially when I have two kids hanging off my legs in the mornings!

The products in this post are hydrating but won’t make oily skin worse, making them ideal for combination skin. While I still like to set my t-zone with powder, that’s just my personal preference. These are some of my favourite makeup products ever, and I will repurchase them forever!

Best Radiance-Boosting Skin Tint

Oskia Nutri-Bronze 30mls £64

Oskin skin tint

I’ve mentioned Oskia Nutri-Bronze before in my New Mum Beauty Products post—it was a lifesaver during the postpartum days of zero sleep! It’s definitely the priciest product on this list, but trust me, every penny is worth it.

This is more than just a skin tint—it’s a bronzing tint and anti-ageing serum in one. The formula is packed with Bakuchiol, Milk Peptides, Pro-Vitamin B5, Swiss Apple Stem Cells, Vitamin E, MSM, and Hyaluronic Acid. Basically, it’s a nutrient boost for your skin while giving you a healthy, radiant glow.

Key Details:

  • Coverage: Sheer
  • Finish: Radiant
  • Best for: Normal, combination, or dry skin
  • Shade range: One adaptable shade

How to Use:

Shake the bottle and pump a small amount onto your hand. You can:

  • Apply it alone for a natural glow
  • Mix with your moisturiser or SPF for a sheer wash of colour
  • Use as a bronzer to enhance warmth

The initial colour may look dark, but it blends seamlessly. If you have very pale skin, I’d love to hear about your experience with this! If you have very oily skin, this may be a little greasy. I use powder over it on my t-zone area.

Why I Love It:

I recently reintroduced this into my routine after trying other products in winter, and my skin looks noticeably healthier. It feels plump, hydrated, and smooth, and I swear it’s this product working its magic!

Most days, I wear just this, a little concealer, blush, and mascara—perfect for busy mornings. But it also works beautifully under a full makeup routine for more polished days.

Honestly, if Oskia ever discontinued this, I don’t think I’d recover!

Best Budget-Friendly Skin Tint

Sculpted by Aimee HydraTint 30mls £22

Hydratint lightweight skin tint

I’m featuring two Sculpted by Aimee products because I’m a huge fan of this Irish beauty brand! Every product I’ve tried has been amazing.

HydraTint is a moisturising tinted serum with lightweight, buildable coverage. It contains Hyaluronic Acid, Centella Asiatica Water, and Ceramides, so it’s ultra-hydrating. Plus, it has SPF 20, making it a great everyday option!

Key Details:

  • Coverage: Light
  • Finish: Natural glow
  • Best for: All skin types
  • Shade range: 20 flexible shades

How to Use:

  • Apply with fingers or a buffing brush (I recommend the Sculpted by Aimee Complexion Brush).
  • Layer it up to customize your coverage.
  • If you have an oily t-zone, a little pressed powder will help it last all day.

Why I Love It:

It’s quick, easy, and fuss-free, making it ideal for spring and summer makeup. While I still need concealer for dark circles or blemishes, this evens out my skin beautifully and gives a fresh, natural look.

Best Tinted Moisturiser with Skincare Benefits

Sculpted by Aimee Tint and Glow 45mls £23

Tint and glow skin tint

I honestly can’t decide which Sculpted by Aimee complexion product I love more, so I’ve repurchased both multiple times!

Tint & Glow is a multi-tasking tinted moisturiser with SPF protection. It contains Hyaluronic Acid for hydration, Niacinamide for antioxidant protection, and Carrot Root Extract to defend against blue light (which is great considering how much time we all spend in front of screens!).

Key Details:

  • Coverage: Light to Medium (buildable)
  • Finish: Radiant
  • Best for: All skin types
  • Shade range: 20 flexible shades

How to Use:

  • Apply with fingers or a brush.
  • Slightly more coverage than HydraTint, making it ideal if you want a bit more than a bare-skin look.
  • Oily skin types may need a touch of powder for longevity.

Why I Love It:

It gives a glowy, hydrated finish and doesn’t break me out. This product is my go-to for everyday makeup, it’s quick and easy to apply and instantly wakes up tired, dull skin.

If you prefer medium coverage, you could try Sculpted by Aimee Second Skin Dewy instead. I might switch to that in winter!

Best Luxury Skin Tint

Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Complexion Touch 20mls £55

Chanel skin tint

I haven’t used Chanel foundation in years (RIP to Pro-Lumiere and Mat-Lumiere, my all-time favourites), but the Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint had me intrigued!

It’s a medium-coverage formula with ultra-concentrated micro-droplet pigments, packed with Jasmine Extract and Tamarind Seed Extract for hydration and environmental protection. There are 16 shades in the range. I am currently using B30 which is perfect for a sunkissed glow. It is a water-based formula which makes it feel really lightweight and perfect for the summer.

Key Details:

  • Coverage: Light to medium
  • Finish: Natural glow
  • Best for: Normal to combination skin
  • Shade range: 16 shades

How to Use:

  • Use one pump and blend on the back of your hand before applying.
  • Can be used all over, as a highlighter, or as a concealer.
  • I apply with fingers first, then a buffing brush or beauty blender for a flawless finish.

Why I Love It:

It took some trial and error to get used to. Initially, I found that it was accentuating the appearance of pores and clinging to any flaky patches on my skin. Now I use it mainly as a concealer and highlighter on minimal makeup days. It works beautifully on top of Oskia Nutri-Bronze for extra coverage!

  1. I’ve never bought anything from Sculpted by Aimee but they’ve been popping up a lot on Instagram recently and I’ve been intrigued. Might take the plunge after reading this although need to decide which to choose!
    Great post, thanks Amy!

    1. It’s a great brand! Really high-quality products at reasonable prices. They are both very buildable but if you want a little more coverage I would go for Tint and Glow. HydraTint is perfect when you just want a no-makeup-makeup look if you know what I mean! Their concealer is also one of the best I have used in a while and works well for both under eyes and blemishes. Let me know how you get on if you try anything!
