Skin Rocks The Moisturiser Review: Does It Live Up to the Hype?
If you’ve been following skincare trends over the past year, you’ll have heard of Skin Rocks, the results-driven skincare brand founded by Caroline Hirons. Known for no-nonsense formulas packed with proven ingredients, the line has quickly gained cult status.
I recently finished a full 50ml jar of Skin Rocks The Moisturiser and put it to the test. In this review, I’m sharing exactly how it performed, who it’s best for, and whether it’s worth the £58/$72 price tag.
TL;DR
A rich, comforting moisturiser suitable for all skin types that strengthens your skin barrier, deeply hydrates, and leaves skin soothed and smooth. It has a thick, creamy texture but absorbs quickly with no greasy residue. I found it worked perfectly as a night cream on my dehydrated oily-combination skin. Perfect for dry, sensitive, or barrier-compromised skin, especially in colder months or after retinoid use.

What is Skin Rocks The Moisturiser?

The Moisturiser is designed to support, protect, and nourish the skin barrier. It’s suitable for all skin types, but especially comforting for dryness or sensitivity.
It comes in two versions: fragranced and fragrance-free. I went with the fragranced option, and it has a gorgeous, fresh but not overpowering scent. The formula includes barrier-loving heroes like ceramides, peptides, and fatty acids, making it a reliable “rescue cream” for stressed skin.
The range also includes:
- Skin Rocks Rich Moisturiser — for very dry skin
- Skin Rocks Light Moisturiser — for oilier skin types or warmer climates
I’m planning to try the Light option as a daytime moisturiser at some stage, but for now, the Byoma Gel Cream Moisturiser is firmly in that spot.
First Impressions & Texture

I instantly fell in love with the texture of this moisturiser; it has a gorgeous, whipped yet silky consistency that feels thick and luxurious. Despite its richness, it melts into my skin beautifully and absorbs quickly with no greasy residue.
The jar is a weighty, green glass container with refillable pods, a thoughtful and sustainable touch that gives it a premium feel.
Once applied, it creates a light protective layer that feels soothing, especially if your skin is dry, dehydrated, or just feeling a bit off.

I mostly used The Moisturiser in the evenings, and it worked perfectly as a night cream for my dehydrated oily-combination skin. It felt rich enough to comfort and hydrate, but without leaving any heaviness.

- No pilling: Layered well over serums and under SPF or makeup when used in the morning
- Long-lasting hydration: Still felt moisturised by morning
- Barrier support: Helped reduce redness and flaking after retinoid use
How to Use in Your Routine
- Evening: After serums, especially post-retinol or exfoliation nights
- Morning: On dry or compromised skin, under SPF (allow a few minutes before makeup)

One jar lasted me around three months with nightly use, working out at around 63p per day. While it’s not the cheapest moisturiser, the results and comfort factor made it feel like a worthwhile investment for my evening skincare routine.

I’m genuinely sad to have finished this jar. It’s been such a lovely part of my evening routine, bringing a little daily luxury while keeping my skin calm, hydrated, and happy. While it’s a premium product and there are more affordable options I also rate highly, if you’re looking to invest in a rich, barrier-loving cream that truly delivers, Skin Rocks The Moisturiser is one I can confidently recommend.
