Spring Makeup Trends 2025 Made Easy!
Last Updated on March 7, 2025 by Amy
Ah, the arrival of Spring and Summer—a time I absolutely adore. But without fail, as March rolls around, so does my annual moment of panic. The thought of shedding my trusty winter coat and baring my limbs again? Mildly terrifying.
Suddenly, I’m deep in exercise plans, debating laser hair removal, and ruthlessly spring-cleaning my skincare and makeup stash. And, of course, I become a beauty marketer’s dream, reaching for anything that promises a radiant ‘glow’ or ‘fresh skin!’
If you’re feeling the pressure to transform from ‘Mother Hen’ into a ‘Spring Chicken,’ don’t worry—I’ve got you! I’ve rounded up the Spring 2025 beauty trends that actually work for busy 30-something women, plus handpicked product recommendations to help you ease into the new season.
Let’s get started before those distant sounds of lawnmowers and birdsong get any louder!
1. Hydrated, Fresh Skin: Lightweight Bases Are In

The ‘clean makeup’ trend is not going anywhere this year. Spring 2025 is all about skin that looks like skin. Instead of heavy foundations, lightweight tinted moisturisers, skin tints, and serums are the way forward.
If you love a fresh, dewy finish that still evens out your skin tone, here are two fantastic options I’ll be using on repeat this season:
Sculpted by Aimee HydraTint 30mls £23

This skincare-makeup hybrid delivers buildable, lightweight coverage across 20 shades. Packed with Hyaluronic Acid, Centella Asiatica Water, and Ceramides, it keeps skin hydrated while adding a natural glow. The SPF20 is a great bonus!
🔹 Best for: Those who want hydration and a sheer but buildable finish.
e.l.f Halo Glow Liquid Filter £15

A budget-friendly dupe for Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, this versatile product can be worn as a primer, a lightweight base, mixed with foundation, or as a highlighter. I tend to dot it over the high points of my face like cheekbones, bridge of nose, forehead and chin and blend it with a brush or beauty blender.
🔹 Best for: Anyone wanting a luminous, soft-focus glow without breaking the bank.

2. Doll-like Lashes: No Falsies Required

Fluttery, fanned-out lashes are the look for Spring 2025—but if you, like me, don’t have the time (or patience) for falsies, here’s how to get the effect in seconds:
Tweezerman Classic Curler £16
Effortlessly lifts lashes for a natural curl without pinching or pulling. Perfect for looking more awake (even when you’re running on caffeine and chaos!).
Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara £12.99
I’ve repurchased this four times—a rare feat in my mascara journey! It lengthens, volumizes, and never clumps. Plus, it’s often on sale for around £7. It holds up impressively through long workdays and busy evenings—if only I could say the same for my energy levels!
🔹 Best for: A long-lasting, fanned-out effect with zero smudging.
3. Mocha Mousse: The Pantone Shade of 2025

Each year, the Pantone Color of the Year influences fashion and beauty, and for 2025, it’s Mocha Mousse—a warm, universally flattering brown. Expect to see it in blushes, bronzers, eyeshadows, lipsticks, and even nail colours.
A few of my go-to makeup products from recent months align perfectly with this trend (turns out I was ahead of the curve!). These picks are an effortless way to introduce brown tones into your look without feeling overpowering:
Sunday Riley Lip Butter Balm in Brown Sugar

You can find my full review of this product in my Best Tinted Lip Balms post. This rich, buttery balm keeps your lips hydrated while giving a subtle nod to the Mocha Mousse trend!
Lisa Elridge Liquid Lurex Eyeshadow in Emily

This stunning liquid eyeshadow from Lisa Eldridge is the ideal neutral minky-taupe shade. It’s effortless to apply and blends beautifully, giving just the right amount of sheen without being overly glittery—great news if you’re over 35! The buildable formula allows for a subtle wash of colour for daytime wear or a more intense look for evenings out, making it a versatile staple in any makeup bag.
Lisa Elridge Luxuriously Lucent Lip Colour in Painterly

A polished, semi-sheer nude that complements Mocha Mousse tones. (See my Best Pink & Nude Lipsticks post for a full review!)
4. Cherry Cola Makeup 🍒

Red makeup is having a moment, but this time, it’s all about soft, diffused cherry tones rather than bold, precise reds. Think:
✔️ Cherry-stained lips (tinted balms or soft-focus lipsticks)
✔️ A hint of red blush, blended seamlessly
✔️ Warm red eyeshadows for a subtle pop of colour
If you’re nervous about red makeup, start with a sheer lip tint or cherry nail colour and build it up gradually!
5. Blush-Highlighter Hybrids
Why use two products when you can get the same effect in one? This season’s blush-highlighter hybrids give skin a natural flush and glow—without chunky glitter.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush

Gives the perfect ‘lit-from-within’ effect. (Full review here!)
Chantecaille Cheek Gelée

A cream-gel blush that blends like a dream for a radiant sheen. (Check out my full review!)
💡 Blush Placement Trick: Apply blush slightly higher along the cheekbones and blend upwards toward the temples. It lifts and sculpts the face, enhancing your natural structure!
I’ve added some more options below. Any of these blushes would be perfect for the blush-highlighter hybrid trend!
6. Metallic Shimmer: Sophisticated, Not Sparkly

Forget chunky glitter—Spring 2025 is all about delicate, refined metallics in soft golds, silvers, champagnes, and bronzes. These shades add dimension to the eyes and high points of the face without looking overdone.
🌟 Best picks for a soft shimmer:
✔️ Rose-gold liquid eyeshadow
✔️ Champagne-toned highlighter
✔️ Light bronze lip gloss
Try some of the products below and think glow, not glitter!
